It's a Bike of the Year takeover in May's edition of Cycling Plus, as our testing team selects their favourite steed of 2019. 75 bikes in all were tested (we only had space for 39, with the rest on our sister site bikeradar.com), making it our most thorough test yet. The big hitters of Giant, Cannondale, Specialized and BMC have been the most recent winners, so the victor this year may come as a surprise?
Rather than price points, this year's test set about answering common queries like "I want a bike that can go anywhere", "I want a bike that'll make me faster" and "I want a bike for climbing." For all the answers, check out the full monster 50-page test starting on p31.
Despite the colossus that is this year's Bike of the Year, there's plenty elsewhere. We've a grouptest of eight spring outfits from the likes of Endura, Castelli and Gore, and tests of new kit including Shimano's S-Phyre sunglasses, Poc Ventral Spin helmet and the Tioga Undercover Stratum saddle.
