Berthoud - Marie Blanque Women’s Saddle (Stainless Steel Rails)#berthoud #cockpit #components #leather #saddles
Gilles Berthoud’s women-specific saddle, is named for the 1,035 m (3,396 ft) Col de Marie-Blanque in the western Pyrenees. This saddle has a shorter nose than the men’s Aspin saddle.
Leather saddles have long offered the ultimate in comfort for long-distance cycling, because they shape themselves to your unique anatomy. Gilles Berthoud’s saddles use thoroughly modern materials and construction methods, while maintaining the advantages of a tensioned leather saddle. We’ve been riding these saddles for years, because we find them so comfortable.
The leather is thick and initially firm, but Berthoud saddles are comfortable out of the box due to their excellent shape. Pre-softened to shorten the break-in, they will last many years with occasional treatment. (We recommend Obenauf’s leather preservative.) Berthoud saddles rarely need tensioning, but when they do, the tension is easy to adjust with a 5 mm allen key.
Available in tan, brown, black or cork. The same leather upper is also available as the Berthoud Agnel Women's Saddle (w/Titanium Rails).
