In 1988 Schwinn was celebrating their 50th anniversary, and released this limited edition of their Paramount. The paramount as it were, was the top-of-the-line road bike coming from Schwinn during the later half of the 20th century.

Their 1988 anniversary model was treated with even more prestige - with an even lighter weight Columbus SLX tubeset being used in its making. The 50th anniversary edition was built by Waterford Precision Cycles, with build quality rivaling even the most notable bikes coming out of Italy and Japan at the time.

This particular Paramount has a 22.5" (C-T) frame and is built with full Dura Ace 7400 groupset (including the seatpost). It currently has Cinelli bars, and stem, and handlebar tape, with a Stronglight headset. The saddle is a modern reproduction of the Selle San Marco Rolls. The wheels are Dura Ace 7400 Hubs, laced to Mavic clincher rims. This framset and these components have been quite meticulously maintained, and show very little signs of use.
